A Co-op Fresh Market for Jackson Square?

Here at ORRE we are always thinking about what we can do to bring new speciality retail and restaurants into our centers.   One idea that just keeps popping up is a Fresh Market for Jackson Square.   It seems that it would be a natural fit - we already have the Farmers' Market on Saturdays and Wednesdays from Spring through Fall -  but wouldn't it be nice to have a Fresh Market there everyday?

ORRE is all about supporting locally owned businesses and we want to support locally produced products as well.  Therefore, we are beginning an effort to find these special people who have made a commitment to the land, to the heritage of East Tennessee and our lifestyles.

I know there must be an individual or a group out there who is interested in bringing a Fresh Market to Oak Ridge.  And I am certain that Oak Ridgers will support such a store.

Wouldn't you like to see
  • Fresh Meat and Seafood
  • Fresh Fruits and Veggies
  • Fresh Baked Breads and Pastries
  • Gourmet Foods
  • Local Wines and Microbrews
  • Fresh Flowers
Maybe a great chef will come on board too with wonderful lunches and easy take outs from the fresh foods available?

A coffee shop could be part of it too!

If you are interested give us a call at ORRE  -  865-272-3009 to talk about the possibilities!   We can help get you in touch with the right people to make this happen.

  1. Would love to be able to buy fresh produce, locally grown, all the time. Would also love to be able to buy grain-fed beef and hormone-free chicken, etc.

  3. How about a local, member owned food coop instead? We could model it on Three Rivers Market, Knoxville's food coop. They support local growers as much as they can, with emphasis on organic and sustainably produced items. Who knows? They might even be interested in a satellite.

  4. I am a little late in commneting on this, having just found this blog. But this would be a phenomenal thing to happen here in Oak Ridge. I have been searching for more places to find locally grown and produced foods.
